Diversify Your Platforms When Sharing Your Knowledge

In today's fast-paced and digital world, sharing knowledge has never been easier. It was really during Covid and lockdown that I made the commitment to "share everything I know." The world of business underwent radical transformation and specifically startups were particularly vulnerable to the economic impacts of the crisis. However, the rise of virtual platforms such as Zoom and MicrosoftTeams proved to be a saving grace for many startups seeking advice and guidance.

Entrepreneurs relied on in person events and networking opportunities to connect with advisors, mentors and potential investors. Zoom panels and virtual events stepped in to fill the void. There was much urgency for LP's and investors, like myself to help their portfolio companies stay a float. We spent time advising on ways to stay cash positive and to make innovative decisions to current monetization models.

Personally, I was still able to participate in pitch events, virtually. Virtual breakout rooms and group discussions allowed startups to brainstorm ideas, seek feedback and learn from others in a collaborative and interactive environment. Annual seminars and conferences were held online and arguably I was able to participate in more of these as a panelist/speaker because I didn’t need to travel across the globe.

Podcast interviews was a regular occurrence, and I appreciated the format as it allowed me to dive deeper into my areas of knowledge with a host. And naturally podcasts can allow someone to reach a much wider and varied demographic.

And I can't forget that it was during covid that I was able to reach out to 38 amazing contributing authors, representing 5 continents to ensure my book “Changing the Game: Discover How Esports and Gaming are Redefining Business, Careers, Education and The Future” became a reality.

I genuinely believe that many global thought leaders had slightly more bandwidth to share out their knowledge because they were not travelling and could carve out time to contribute an article to a book.

Sharing knowledge has never been easier. Having multiple platforms to share your knowledge not only establishes your credibility and expertise, but it showcases your versatility and adaptability as a thought leader. Grateful to IGM News for giving me another valuable platform to share out.

Sharing knowledge has never been easier.
