Championing Social Justice: Advocating for Equal Rights

Kiara Kaur, 8 years old, an inspirational Author and Three times World record holder, has achieved more than most do in a lifetime. As an inspirational author and a three-time world record holder, her story is a testament to curiosity, determination, and the power of familial support.

From a young age, Kiara showed an insatiable curiosity. Inspired by her grandmother, a gynecologist, and her grandfather, an engineer and military colonel, she developed a profound love for books. By the age of 2, she was already reading and narrating stories to her friends, and by 4, she had read over 2,000 books. This remarkable feat earned her recognition from the World Book of Records, London, and the Asia Book of Records for reading 36 books in just one hour and 45 minutes non-stop.

In an era dominated by digital technology, Kiara's dedication to physical books stands out. She believes that the tactile experience of reading promotes deeper learning. Her passion for reading led her to become the youngest TEDx speaker in the world at the age of 5, where she shared her journey and emphasized the importance of family support in child development.

Kiara's influence continued to grow. At the age of 6, she became the youngest keynote speaker at World Expo 2020 in Dubai, where she delivered a speech titled "Small Changes, Big Difference" during International Women’s Week at the Mexico pavilion. Her address focused on gender equality and women empowerment, showcasing her understanding of critical social issues.

Her commitment to social causes extends beyond gender equality. As a voracious reader, Kiara has educated herself on issues like climate change. She believes that the youth's voice is vital for a sustainable future, given their significant global population and fearless pursuit of knowledge and truth. This belief led her to address COP28 and COY18, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Dubai, making her the youngest speaker at these events.

At 8 years old, Kiara's powerful voice and advocacy efforts were recognized by UN Women at the 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Her dedication to sustainable development goals has been acknowledged by world leaders and dignitaries, including the Prime Minister of India, the Governor of Punjab, the Ambassador of India to the UAE, UAE's Tolerance Minister His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, and Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC Mr. Simon Stiell.

Kiara attributes her success to the unwavering support of her grandparents, Dr. Rita Batra and Col. MP Singh, who have been her guiding lights. Her journey is a shining example that age is just a number when it comes to making a positive impact on the world.

Kiara Kaur's story is a beacon of inspiration, demonstrating that with determination, support, and a love for learning, even the youngest among us can drive significant change.

Kiara is a startling example of “Age is just a number”.
